About Emily Kurland, RN, MSN, WHNP-BC

Emily graduated magna cum laude from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1998 with a bachelors of science in nursing. She received her master's of science in nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1999 with a concentration in Women's Health Care. She has been certified by the National Certification Corporation as a Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner and is a member of the National Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health as well as the Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses. 

As a navy wife, Emily worked throughout different parts of the country including Virginia, Florida and California prior to arriving in Ohio. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner Emily worked as a registered nurse in large tertiary hospitals [affiliated with Medical College of Virginia, Eastern Virginia Medical School and University of Florida] in both Virginia and Florida as labor and delivery nurse, as well as high risk antepartum unit, postpartum unit and newborn nursery, [where she precepted other nurses]. As a nurse practitioner, she provided care for US Navy service members and their families in the obstetrics and gynecology division in San Diego, CA as well as a private practice in Jacksonville, FL. After her husband's retirement from the US Navy, she and her family settled in Lima, OH in 2012.
